Hey guys! I promise the Philly race recap/BQ awesomesauce post is going up this week! Keep an eye out, but for now I needed to say hi, happy Tuesday, sorry i’ve fallen off the face of the earth and I am so thankful for many people in my life who support and love me. Le & my cousin Becky (you can see the Maley resemblance right?)

My nephews Brant, Mason & Jaxon could not stop talking about how many pull-ups and pushups they could do or how fast they could run! Melted my heart, they were speaking my language, and they aren’t full of it… those kids are strong!

In the Maley house, Uno is tradition.

Turkey Time

Monday: 35min total body

Thanksgiving was a blast this year! I had an easy ride to Ohio and got to meet up with Emmeline and her husband for dinner. But she’s a jerk…always feeding me beer and trying to talk me into doing an Ironman.

Thanksgiving morning I ran 6 hilly miles on a beautiful clear day making room for all the food I forgot to take pictures of haha, oops. I think we had a little over 30 people on T-Day and it was amazing. A lot of catching up, laughing, wine, kids playing and everyone falling in love LE!

LE enjoyed the freedom of being off-leash and having a ton of space to play. She listened perfectly and was so easy to take care of. Plus, she just looked so majestic!

Later, after most of us napped, we had a bonfire, corn hole, giant jenga, and more wine. It felt almost like a college party, but way more fun cause the company was awesome 🙂

The next day we hit up Zoo Lights at the Columbus Zoo. It drizzled and was raining hard at the end, but everyone had a good time.

I left for home Saturday morning and once I got LE bathed, she passed out in a blanket for an hour. She was beat. So was I. I still feel like i’m making up sleep!

First T-Day Run Ever

Monday: Rest

I’ve never once set foot out the door on Thanksgiving. Never laced up, never turkey trotted and never worked off my pumpkin pie before I ate it. But I needed it this year. I like running in different locations, so just getting out on the Ohio roads felt good, even if it was cold and snowing in my face hah.

It’s hard to see in the pic, but those rolling hills got me! I gained over 400ft of elevation in 4 miles. I was actually at 1,000 ft elevation…totally different from my sea level legs.  I wasn’t really anticipating a hill repeat effort, but hey it’s the first in my off season.

At least there was a hot shower, coffee and food to eat shortly after… oh this must be why you guys run on Thanksgiving morning haha.

Oh and I don’t have any pictures of the pumpkin pie because I ate it. ALL of it. Then of course there were way too many family pictures being taken!

This is my cousin Brooke, me, Grandma Maley, & my niece Peyton:

Also—Ohio is hilarious. I miss the Midwest so much. Where are you ever going to find solid hunks of chocolate for sale at the grocery store like this?

Peyton ❤

Or this…can you spot it?

Or the best of all.. someone that caters to your alcohol purchasing needs? On register ONE?

I feel like I should have bought the Ohio shirt, walked around with a hunk of chocolate in one hand and a 12 pack of beer in the other… I’m guessing that’s what Ohio wanted me to do.
