5 Friday Favorites #5

Believe it or not i actually have draft posts for 3 different race recaps and a bunch of other life news, it’s all coming soon! But for now, a few Friday funsies to get us to the weekend!

  1. The Pop Tart Recipe. I posted a BEAUTIFUL, if i do say so myself, photo of a homemade strawberry pop tart we made for Thanksgiving. All i can say is it was just as delicious as it looks. I’m attempting another one this weekend (this time cherry!)

2. Tailwind. Okay, I know i’m an ambassador for Nuun, but honestly 2018 is going to be the year for Tailwind. This stuff is AMAZING. I used it from mile 11-22 during the very warm Marine Corps Marathon and this nutrition is legit. It does what it says: it’s all you need and it’s easy to digest.Screen Shot 2017-12-08 at 7.18.36 AM

3. No Bull cross training shoes. I bought these for the love of all things camo and army green, but I’ve wanted to try these gym shoes out for a while now. They are comfy, 4mm drop and a whole lot of nothing else going on. Hence the name No Bull. I’ve worn them during workouts and just to work (standing for 5-6 hours at a time) and i’ve loved them each and every day I’ve put them on. Doesn’t hurt they look great with jeans or black tights or awesome Star Wars socks.

4. Campfire Smores GU. <–My favorite flavor gel of all time. Period. Aaaand the cutest ornament from my friend Normalied ..she acts like she knows me or something.. 😉

2. Hello from the Magic Tavern (podcast). This is hilarious. It’s a completely fictional tale told by funny dudes who improv this podcast. Yes, improv and they’re good. We listened to and from Chicago on our trip last week. It never got old and was super refreshing to listen to fun fiction! magictavern1

3.  Crossfit: The Fittest on Earth (documentary on Netflix). This summer is all about sports. Crossfit Games (July 19th!), the Olympics, Donald Trump’s hair fighting to stay on. This documentary is filled with grueling passion and funny heartfelt moments. Even though I’ve already watched it, I will be watching it again this weekend. It’s something to asterisk for marathon training pick me upa.

4. Moving Comfort Rebound Racer (sports bra). I’ve been wearing this for the last few week and I’m freaking happy. Chafing has been happening a lot this summer and i knew it was because of old sports bras & DC humidity, but i needed something different. My old Nike Pros only last about 6 months and begin to stink pretty quickly. I’ve been trying to find something I love and I think the rebound racer is the one! It’s pictured below and Brooks is having a huge sale on them!

5. Honey Stinger Gluten Free Waffles. I know i’m an ambassador and already love their waffles, but the gluten free ones are made with rice (not wheat) and they hold together so much better. And hello…salted caramel! Cameron approved 😉

Happy Friday friends! Just thought i’d share a few Instagram accounts that I just can’t get enough of. And if you want to follow me I’m at shesgoingforspeed .

  1. Nom Yourself -Mary Mattern is a vegan personal chef with excellent style and an obsession with coffee and cool clothes. No i’m not a vegan, but people like her are showcasing great food and substitutions so I feel like I can make small changes to my diet easily! Screen Shot 2016-06-10 at 8.01.16 AM
  2.  BVM Crossfit – One of the best running and strength Insta’s out there. They have exercises and stretches that I use almost every day. I guess my favorite Instagrams lean toward strong girls. I like that. Maybe in a couple weeks I’ll do my top 5 favorite guy accounts. 🙂
