Monday: 6m easy 9:39/p
Tuesday: 7m interval (3 x 1 mile @ 6:40/pace), Crossfit
Saturday morning I woke up extra early to fit in a long run. It was finally a little cooler out and very welcomed. 13 miles later I headed out to Shenandoah National Park to hike and check into the cabin.
It was cute but also kinda creepy…I kept thinking the lighting made it a look a little serial killer-ish. How else do I describe it? hah
Then onto the trails! The weather was beautiful, temps were cool and there were too many trails to choose from.
Dinner was at Big Meadows Lodge (where I stayed) and it was outstanding.
Wine of course, cheese plate, oven roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans.. oh and blackberry cobbler.
Wine back on the porch was so relaxing.
Sunday morning I rolled out of bed to catch the sunrise…
After breakfast I headed out again for more hiking. I felt accomplished since I did a variety of hikes that included waterfalls, rock climbing and summits with views.
Today I’m doing my first workout of mile repeats. Wish me luck, these are going to hurt. Especially after all the hiking…my poor calves.

Love Shenandoah! It’s so pretty there. I wish I had hiked Old Rag before i moved. There’s nothing like Skyline Drive. I biked it last summer and it’s really breathtaking.

Wow – loads of great pics! The sunrise looks incredible, hard to ever really capture it, but those are great shots! Looks like a fantastic weekend. Never been down that way, but looks gorgeous!
For us, each day had a ‘work & play’ component – I got in a long run Saturday then we did some stuff around before heading to see ‘Bad Moms’. Sunday was cleaning a bunch before taking the dogs for a long hike (had to carry Rosie for some) and then a nice fire. Sunday was doing all the floors and then heading with the dogs on a shorter hike. Also started watching ‘Mr Robot’ before heading on a post-sunset walk. It was really nice!
Your runs looked really great for the week as well! Good luck this week – now that September is here things will happen fast! 🙂

Happy anniversary! It looks so pretty there. I love to hike – and it’s pretty easy round these parts. We were in Montana this weekend and it was so relaxing and pretty wild.
