Thursday: 7m MP tempo (1m warm up, 5 @ 8:00, 1m cool down), 30min TRX upper body + core
- Hector and the Search For Happiness – It’s on Netflix. Watch it. It made me laugh, cry & want to travel. It’s kinda like Eat, Pray, Love but not as girly.
2. LE’s first runs. She’s doing a run/walk mileage build up. 3 minutes of running, 3 walking just like anyone else getting started! So far she’s listening really well and staying right next to me. We did 2 walk/runs last week (both under 3 miles).
3. Self Timed Pics. I will do this more often on my long, slow runs when I notice places that may be photo worthy. I’ve always wanted more pictures of me actually running that do not cost $40 or have orange “PHOTO COPYRIGHT” all over it. If the self times is how I have to get them, so freaking be it!

5. Oiselle Roga Shorts. I finally tried these and i love them. The size is a little large so i’ll size down the next time I buy them, but they’re long 4″ inseam (so no thigh rub), and I noticed in the pouring rain they never weighed down or got soaked with water. I’ve been searching for shorts for a while since Under Armour no longer makes my favorite kind. These seem to be a big contender!
I wore these shorts during a warmer run a week ago…

Ooh I need to step up my self-timer game. It’s harder in the city because I don’t want to leave my phone sitting or look like a big weirdo. And omg your dog has the face of joy in those photos! I like the Oiselle Roga shorts but my favorite are their Distance shorts!

Yeah I’m alone a lot on the trail so I’m allowed to look like an idiot running back and forth in front of my phone haha– and the distance shorts are totally on my radar!

Fun post 🙂 I think I am in denial about needing new running clothes … or maybe just avoidance 🙂 Either way I know it is time …
Yeah, I just don’t ever see myself doing a self-timer action photo – but who knows, right? There are only so many types of running photos (face, watch-view, feet, mirror and self-timer) so maybe I’ll try it at some point 🙂
We had almost watched that Hector movie at one point, but the reviews were, um, not good. But that doesn’t always mean anything, so maybe we’ll give it a shot! Price is right, anyway! Nothing to recommend – haven’t watched much lately (not even keeping up with our TV shows on Hulu!), and what we have watched are paid rentals (just watched ‘Room’ before the Oscars).
Agree with others on how joyous LE looks – I think you have a great running partner there!

It was very good – I wouldn’t call it ‘great’ as a movie, but the core performances by Brie Larson and the little boy were really engaging and amazing. Have you read the book? Lisa has (I haven’t) and it is distinctly different (book is told from child’s viewpoint).

I just got a pair of those oiselle shorts – the “toolbelt” version that has a big mesh pocket in the back. Great to hear they are comfortable! I’ll go on my first run in mine next week when it’s a bit warmer 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!

The self timer thing is hard for me. I have had some luck with taking a video and then a screen shot, but sometimes they come out kind of blurry. But its way better than paying for race photos!

Our pup just turned one so it’s time to start with some running. We had one not so great run but she’s pretty smart so I’m hoping she’ll figure it out soon.
