Monday: Rest

Tuesday: 3m easy, 20 min chest/biceps

Wednesday: 20 min back, pushups +major leg stretching

Thursday: 3.5m easy, 10 min abs

Hey guess what? I did 3 miles on the treadmill this week and 3.5m outdoors. Each time it felt like I could go longer.  The ankle is surviving! Woo!

I have a new cross training goal and I need you guys to hold me to it. I want to do one yoga class a week. We literally have classes in the gym all week long (morning & evening), so there’s really no excuse for me not to try this out. I’m hoping the stretching and strengthening will help the extreme tightness in my legs in the long run. Because I miss long runs. Three miles, as awesome as they’ve been, i miss hitting 6-7-8-9-10 mile mark.

Would you believe that I forgot to pool run while I was at my brothers house over the weekend? Must have been too preoccupied with my Three Floyds beer and trying to get rid of the horrendous sports bra tan.

Here are my cute nephews just because…

The last part of Indiana/Chicago trip was a stop to visit Kyle and his wife Elise. She’s a blogger too, and we’ve grown closer because of it. And the running. Runners always stick together…

And if we’re not sticking together, we make things that stick together…

She’s had her fair share of ankle problems, so it was nice having a runner to talk to about my issues. We’re both doing Chicago Marathon in the fall (I actually know a TON of people running) so I can’t wait until October!

  1. I really wish you lived closer! Look how excited I was to see you! haha! ❤

  2. As always I love the pics – fun kid shots are always great, and you and Elise are so cute together. Great that you know a bunch of people running Chicago – will make it a fun time no matter what sort of condition the ankle is in at that point and what your goals will be.

Speaking of which … great that the ankle is treating you well! I am always glad to see forward progress (as I said last time I definitely DO worry and stress over the recovery of my blog-friends … running injury is my biggest fear so I always hold my breath when reading a progress update from someone I know is injured!

    Enjoy the weekend!

As for us … Lisa is off both days, so loads of family / couple time, probably plant a tree, kids have a couple of activities, and so on.

    • Forward Progress, that’s gonna be my next blog post 🙂 Plant a tree for me! one day i’ll have a yard!

      • It’s funny, back in Massachusetts we inherited two pear trees at the house we bought, the guy said they never gave fruit. We are chemical-free, and started getting fruit after a couple of years … then kept working at them, and the year before we left they FINALLY gave real pears worth eating! After 15 years in the house. So … hoping we can get some action a bit quickler here 🙂

  3. Glad to hear the ankle’s doing better! Sports bra tans are the worst. And watch out for compression sock tans, too!

  4. Yay for more miles without injury aggravation! I definitely understand missing the long run. When I’m injured, I miss it. When I’m well, I don’t adore it, but I tell myself to appreciate it while I can!

  5. I’m glad to hear your ankle is holding up! I totally get wanting to run farther, hopefully you’ll be going long soon! Thanks so much for the giveaway, I sent you my address.

  6. I need a s’more now!!! I gave up on my running tan lines awhile ago. I made mine worse by wearing my running tank for most of the day Saturday.
