Cameron surprised me by booking a hotel in Georgetown over the weekend for a staycation! We had bad luck both to and from Gtown with the train just sitting for 20 minutes.. which led to pictures like this..
and 5 minutes later the fun wore off which led to pictures like this…
We finally made it to the hotel & got cleaned up for our dinner res (how douchey fancy do I sound?) at Neyla, a very good Mediterranean place.
I loved the wallpaper in the hotel bathroom! Whenever I’m wearing real people clothes, I have to document it.
We ordered a sampler meal at Neyla, with a little of everything and a pitcher of white sangria.
Later we ended up at a bar…
Which led to us walking down M street to the Exorcist stairs. I know it’s a strange thing, but our first night together was spent strolling M street & these stairs. One day i’ll tell ya the story!
The next morning we went for a run along the canal.
And then afterward, Baked & Wired for coffee & cupcakes. Seriously Cameron nailed our weekend.
The rest of our day was spent shopping and walking and more food.
Thunder Burger! Also, best fries ever, i ate every. single. one.
I highly recommend taking a staycation if taking a real vacation just can’t happen with budget or timing. We needed this!
Anyone ever Staycation? Where?
How many miles today?

Oh my gosh how cute is he?! We have only done a staycation once, probably 6 years ago, but we stayed in DC and went to a black tie party and drank wayyyyy too much champagne.

love the train photos:) We had a staycation for our anniversary a few years ago and it was a total blast. It’s fun to explore your city a little bit, and saving some money is always nice too;) Those cupcakes look really amazing 😮

I love StayCations! We did one in Mass before we moved and have done them here as well. Most people really miss out on all their area has to offer, so it is great to just explore and enjoy!
I couldn’t wait to get out this morning – it was supposed to be 35F but the clouds rolled in early so when I got up (4AM) it was 54 and I was so excited to get out there! I did 8.75 miles and just felt great!

That sounds WONDERFUL! I live somewhat close to Georgetown and have never spent any time there. This makes me want to. I’ve always wanted to go see the Exorcist stairs! All your food looks delicious and that wallpaper is bad-a!
I’ll be trying to get in 5 miles today on the treadmill, but my foot is bothering me. Which is why I’m sticking to the treadmill just in case I can’t make it happen and switch to the bike instead. I hate my right foot/leg so much.
